Wellness Place Community Cancer Walk/Run 2013
Outside festivities on a beautiful day, exercise, and fundraising to support a great cause?
We were so in!
Wellness Place provides education, counseling, support and understanding at no charge to those affected by cancer. Located in Palatine, their facility is home to several wonderful programs that have had a tremendously positive impact on the community. Their annual 5K Walk/Run raises funds to support the incredible things they’re doing and was a tremendous success!
The Barrington Arboretum was kind enough to lend their space for the event, and many local businesses were on board too; donating supplies, time and funds.
Since purple is the color for all cancer, we gave fun purple chalk highlights to participants and spectators for donations to the organization.
We even got to “meet” Jessica, the pink firetruck mascot for Pink Heals – an organization supporting all women in their fight against cancer.
They are extra awesome because they help other non-profit programs raise money by bringing the pink fire trucks to various fund raisers at no charge to the organizations.
We had a blast meeting the amazing people who volunteered their time to help put this event together, and everyone who participated to support Wellness Place.
Can’t wait ’til next year!
